Relius Silasil
Relius Silasil is a highly breathable, silica-based, siliconised wall paint, resistant to moss, mould, and algae, suitable for both interior and exterior applications. Developed using the Algosilan concept, it prevents the growth of moss, mould, and algae. Relius Silasil is easy to apply and provides a matte finish. It is also ideal for interiors, as dirt hardly adheres to this product. Additionally, Relius Silasil is water-vapour permeable and very user-friendly to apply.

Can Silasil be applied over existing wall paint?
Yes, Relius Silasil can be applied over old layers of paint. However, a primer must first be applied.
What surfaces is this product suitable for?
This wall paint is suitable for a variety of surfaces. For absorbent substrates, always apply a primer first. Suitable surfaces include concrete, plaster, plasterboard, brick, Renovlies wallpaper, glass fibre wallpaper, masonry, interior walls, and exterior facades.
What is the coverage per m² of this product?
The coverage of Relius Silasil is 180 to 220 ml per m². This means a 12.5 L bucket covers approximately 40–50 m².
What colours is this product available in?
We can mix Relius Silasil in any colour using our mixing system. You can select from all RAL colours, including RAL 9010, RAL 7016, RAL 9001, RAL 7021, RAL 9005, RAL 6009, and RAL 1013. Pre-treatment
Before starting your project, we recommend cleaning the surface thoroughly. Use a degreaser such as St Marc Degreaser. Whether you’re working on concrete, wood, stone, or wallpaper, always clean the surface beforehand to maximise adhesion.
Do I need a primer?
Before painting your wall with wall paint or latex, it’s important to determine whether a primer is required. The good thing is, you can easily test it yourself. Press a damp sponge against the wall. Which brush should I use for wall paint?
Using the right brush is critical for smooth and even latex application, ensuring optimal absorption and release. We recommend the VP synthetic all-round brush for the best results. This brush is made from a blend of traditional pig bristles mixed with selected synthetic fibres.
