The Demidekk range combines the best characteristics of traditional alkyd-based paints with the advantages of modern acrylic-based paints. This hybrid stain is composed of 60% alkyd and 40% acrylic. Which primer should I use?
To use Jotun Demidekk Ultimate Tackfarg on bare or untreated wood, you must first apply the correct primer. The recommended primer is Jotun Oljegrunning Klar, which should only be applied to bare wood. If the wood already has a base layer or paint layer, primer is not needed. Caution: Do not apply two layers of Jotun Oljegrunning Klar.
Are there alternatives to this product?
Koopmans Perkoleum: This stain is available in both opaque and transparent finishes. It is better suited to planed wood and requires two layers for optimal results. While Koopmans Perkoleum is linseed oil-based, Jotun products are water-based, which is a key difference.
Topdeq Aquabeits WA: This is a water-based opaque stain, available in semi-matt and high-gloss finishes. Like Jotun products, it is eco-friendly. We can mix it in various colours.
